With over 20 years experience as a hairdresser in NYC, Renée has recently relocated to Phoenix with her son after marrying the love of her life.

Renée's love for transforming hair and encouraging souls is complimented by her hard won skills and natural talents. We recently connected with Renée to find out more of her back story and how she can help support busy Moms and their kids' achieve their hair goals.

Can you describe how to started as a hairdresser?

I moved to NYC from a small town in western NY to go to college for music, and have worked as a singer on and off my whole adult life. But after several years of waiting tables I got sick of that lifestyle and became a hairdresser. My first day of beauty school was 9/11 and my school was located 1 mile from the World Trade Centers. It was, of course, a traumatic day, and that tragedy is forever linked in my heart with my hairdressing career. But thankfully, this career has been incredibly wonderful to me!



How has your hairdressing career developed to eventually lead you to Phoenix?

I worked in salons and for Aveda, as a teacher and salon development partner, then in 2008 I adopted my son Rahul and my life took another incredible turn! He was 7 at the time and I was a single mom, so I needed to pivot my work situation to take care of him. In 2009, I opened my mobile hairdressing business and spent 11 years working hard and having an amazing time running all over the city doing all kinds of hair! I built very deep relationships with my clients and my life was made so much richer from working with them. Then I met my now husband online, and even though I hadn't ever wanted to get married or leave NYC, he swept me off my feet and made me want to do both! This past Valentine's Day we had a virtual wedding and this spring my son (now 20) and I moved here to Phoenix!



What are you hoping to offer Phoenix Moms and their kids?

I have recently opened my private salon studio a few weeks ago in Gilbert, where I aim to create the same comfortable, efficient atmosphere I've been working with in my mobile business. In addition, I also offer mobile hairdressing here in Phoenix! Because I'm a mom myself, I understand and welcome the chaos that kids can bring and I'm happy to have them in my studio. I offer a cappuccino for mom and art supplies and books for kids!

Many of my NYC clients wrote positive Google Reviews recently, and it was very moving to hear they have appreciated my kindness and attentiveness as much as my technical hair skills. It is really important to me that my clients feel taken care of and heard by me.
