Solstice marks the longest night of the year when the sun is at its lowest elevation in the sky. The return of the sun from its most southern position on the horizon has always been of great ceremonial significance, in addition to serving as a celestial clock.
Here in Phoenix the annual winter solstice begins at 5:15 with poetry, music and crafts.
Food and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase.
WHEN: Thursday 21st of December, 2017
WHERE: Irish Cultural Center & McClelland Library, 1106 N. Central Ave, Phoenix
